RESOLUTION NO. CC -1211 -672 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO <br />BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED <br />ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF A CERTAIN MEASURE RELATING TO <br />REDONDO BEACH POWER PLANT PHASE -OUT AT THE GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 2013, AS <br />CALLED BY RESOLUTION NO. CC- 1210 -663 <br />WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 has been <br />called by Resolution No. CC- 1210 -663, adopted on October 2, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk/Elections Official of the City of <br />Redondo Beach, California, signed by more than 15 percent of the registered voters of the city <br />to submit a proposed initiative To Phase -Out Existing Power Generation and Power <br />Transmission From an Approximately 50 -Acre Site and to Set New Land Use and Development <br />Standards by Amending the General Plan, Coastal Land Use Plan, Harbor /Civic Center Specific <br />Plan, Coastal Zoning, Zoning, and the City Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk/Elections Official examined the records of registration and <br />ascertained that the petition was signed by the requisite number of voters, and has so certified. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, <br />CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That the City Council, pursuant to its right and authority, does hereby <br />order submitted to the voters at a General Municipal Election on March 5, 2013, the following <br />question: <br />j)I=UV *1110=101 <br />Shall Redondo Beach Phase -Out Existing Power Generation <br />and Power Transmission from an Approximately 50 -Acre Site YES <br />and Set New Land Use and Development Standards by <br />Amending the General Plan, Coastal Land Use Plan, <br />Harbor /Civic Center Specific Plan, Coastal Zoning, Zoning, NO <br />and City Charter; the new land use would be allocated <br />between 60 -70% to parks and open space and the remaining <br />30-40% allocated between commercial, institutional or <br />marine related light industrial /boatyard uses? <br />SECTION 2. That the text of the proposed Charter Amendment to be submitted to the <br />voters is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A ", and shall be reprinted in full in the sample <br />ballot pamphlet mailed to voters. One copy of official material per household, that one copy of <br />each piece of official matter shall be mailed to a postal address where two or more registered <br />voters have the same surname and the same postal address. <br />RESOLUTION NO.
